ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES

Foyle Consulting Engineers offers high quality and bespoke Environmental Consultancy Services from initial concept, through to the construction and completion.

  • Land and Groundwater Contamination reports for development sites or acquisition sites (due diligence). This includes : Surveys / site walkovers, Site Investigations (borehole, trial pits) , Collection of samples – soil, water (ground and surface), ground gas, ground vapour, Indoor and outdoor air, Monitoring – ground and surface water, ground gas / vapour, Risk Assessments, Preliminary Risk Assessment (PRA), Generic Quantitative Risk Assessments (GQRA), Detailed Quantitative Risk Assessments (DQRAs), Remediation / Remedial Strategies,  Remediation tender documents, specifications and contracts, Remediation validation / verification – validating remedial works eg installation of gas membranes, soil excavation works, installation of capping layers, Regulator Consultations, Planning Departments, Environmental Health, NIEA;

Foyle Consulting Engineers consists of a team highly professional and experienced members with varying skills and fields of experience. Our senior management team are:

Peter O’Connor

Senior Engineering Manager/Principal
BEng (Hons) CEng MIStruct E MICE MIEI

Peter joined Foyle Port in 2010 and has been responsible for the management and contract administration for Civil and Structural Construction Projects at the Port. In 2010, Peter set up the Port’s trading division, Foyle Consulting Engineers. Previously an Associate Director with WYG, Peter has over 30 years’ experience in the design of structural and civil engineering projects. He is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Structural Engineers, Institute of Civil Engineers, and Engineers Ireland. Peter is a Past President of the Rotary Club of Londonderry.

Barry McGonigle

Principal Engineer
BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering CEng MIEI

Barry joined Foyle Consulting Engineers in 2015. He has over 25 years of experience in civil and structural engineering projects in the residential, leisure, commercial, industrial, and institutional sectors and has previously worked for a number of Consulting Engineering Practices in Ireland including WYG and JC Warnock. Barry is a Chartered Engineer and a Member of Engineers Ireland.
